eonAs part of a Europe-wide research initiative E.on just started funding of a „Innovative Strategies for Integrating Dispersed Energy Storage into Distribution Networks“ jointly submitted by Prof. H. Wedde and Prof. C. Rehtanz (Electrical Engineering). The total funding amount for the period of 4 years (01.06.2008 - 31.05.2012) is € 513,512.

Innovative Energy Storage System

vehicle2grid_logoEnergy storage is a key component of a modern efficient power grid management and power distribution. During the past years a remarkable progress in battery storage technology has opened up a novel perspective for their use as a broad-scale integrative part of reserve energy, e.g. through the new generation of electric passenger cars (Vehicle-to-Grid; V2G).

The power administration and distribution will be handled through a distributed multi-agent management system which is based on a related approach developed in the joint CS/EE project DEZENT and is currently funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DGF).
